PERBEDAAN KADAR ASAM URAT PADA LANSIA MENGGUNAKAN METODE POCT DAN METODE ENZIMATIK KOLORIMETRI DI KLINIK PRATAMA WONDER

Abstract

Uric acid is the end product or waste product produced from the metabolism or breakdown of purine. Examination of uric acid levels can be done in a clinical pathology laboratory with the more practical POCT method and there is an Enzymatic Colorimetry method. This study aims to see if there is a difference in uric acid levels in the elderly using the POCT method and the Enzymatic Colorimetry method. This type of research is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all elderly patients who underwent examination at the Pratama Wonder Clinic laboratory, samples were taken as many as 30 samples taken by purposive sampling. Data on uric acid levels in the elderly using the POCT method and the Enzymatic Colorimetry method will be compared with Univariate and Bivariate tests, the Bivariate test carried out was the Paired Sample T-Test. Based on the results of the study conducted on 30 samples showed different results, namely the uric acid levels of the POCT method with an average result of 6.38 mg/dL and the average uric acid levels of the Enzymatic Colorimetry method of 4.27 mg/dL, the results of the Paired Sample T-Test were obtained with a p-value = 0.000 < 0.005, which shows that there is a significant difference between uric acid levels in the POCT method and the Enzymatic Colorimetry method.
